BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

Admission Requirement

WASSCE/SSCE
Minimum of C6/D in three (3) core subjects, including English and Mathematics and three (3) Science elective subjects respectively. The aggregate score of the 6 subjects should not exceed 24 in the SSCE or 36 in the WASSCE. All passes should be graded D (SSCE) or better or C6 (WASSCE) or better.

Mature Applicants
Applicants must be at least 25 years old and must have credits in five (5) GCE O’ Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject, with at least 3 years relevant working experience. Candidates will be required to pass a qualification examination conducted by the  Department, and or interview.

HND Holders
(Civil Engineering or Environmental Science option) who graduated within the range of First Class to Second Class (Lower Division) may also be considered for admission to Level 200.

Foreign Qualification
All foreign qualifications should be referred to the National Accreditation Board for determination of equivalences and legibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana.

GCE Applicants
Credits in at least five (5) GCE O’ Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science Subject and three (3) passes at GCE A-Level in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, plus a pass in General Paper.

HND Holders
(Civil Engineering or Environmental Science option) who graduated within the range of First Class to Second Class (Lower Division) may also be considered for admission to Level 200.

All foreign qualifications should be referred to the National Accreditation Board for determination of equivalences and legibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana.

Graduates of Environmental Engineering will easily find job opportunities with government agencies and ministries, private organizations and others would likely go into private businesses and consultancy. Some of the possible areas where they can be deployed are;

Ghana Water Company Limited
Community Water and Sanitation Agency
Waste Management Department of Metropolitan Assemblies
Tertiary Institutions
Ministry of Sanitation an Water Resources
Municipal and District Environmental Health and Sanitation Units of the various Municipal and District Assemblies
Private Waste Management Companies and consultancy firms
Universities and Research Institutions
Non-governmental Organizations involved in water resources and environmental sanitation management.
