CENTRAL UNIVERSITY SIGNS MOU WITH SVF IN SWEDEN

13th Jun 2018

Central university has signed a memorandum of understanding with Södra Vätterbygdens Folkhögskola (SVF), Sweden; to engage in skills training, workshops and educational exchanges. The memorandum which was facilitated by Dr Antwi, the Coordinator for the Internships and Exchange programmes, was based on the  shared core values founded on the Christian faith.

The objective of the memorandum is to further allow the two institutions to learn from each other’s rich social, cultural and intellectual ideals. Both institutions also hope to promote inter-cultural understanding, stimulate joint teaching and research projects, open avenues for internships and exchange programmes and promote joint musical concerts, sporting and other educational and religious activities.

Södra Vätterbygdens Folkhögskola (SVF) is a private school in Jönköping, Sweden. It is one of 150 schools for adult education known as”folkhögskola”. The SVF currently has exchange programmes with institutions in the USA and India but none in Africa. The partnership with CU will help SVF to study African culture while the former will be exposed to Swedish culture and music.

The agreement was signed between Mr. Peter Johnson, the Dean of Journalism Education at SVF and  Professor Bill Puplampu, Vice-Chancellor, Central University. To witness the signing were the Registrar of CU, Mr Emil Afenyo, Dr. Antwi and Mr Kofi Akpabli, lectuer with the Communications department.
